The Summoning of Elias Thorne

After returning from war, Elias is persuaded to break a family curse. The ritual brings together objects from seven generations of relatives who share his name. Letters and family relics turn a search for origins into the action of the story itself. The author explicitly identifies it as a response to the shared literary assignment.
