We stopped comparing plots and began counting what survived them.

The source note described 20,000 English stories: four models, five prompts, one thousand attempts at each crossing.

Eleven core words returned often enough to be measured.

At least one appeared in 88.3 percent of the records.

lighthouse appeared in 51.2 percent.

Elias appeared in 26.5.

The clockmaker and the librarian returned with them.

The surnames had been removed before counting.

The study did not prove Elias Thorn. It did not prove a shared memory or a single hidden story.

It proved that different stories kept crossing the same narrow region of possibility.

The name was not yet the answer.

It was one of the places where the pattern learned to stabilise.
